Piper Cub J3

This is my first plank. I was mockin' around with my flight sim, getting bored and craving for a stick time in the field, i thought of giving plank a try. It was alright and I got the feel at once. There I got interested and in no time found myself ordering the J3 at our LHS in Abu Dhabi. It's the Hyperion Piper Cub 10e.

The recommended motor Hyperion Z2213-20 and 20A ESC were not available and so I installed an equivalent KDA2215 and Turnigy 30A with 9x6 prop and 3s 1000mah lipo from DuckRC at Makati Cinema Square.

I wasn't able to fly this plank immediately as I've acquired few foamies almost at the same time and I really wanted to have them in the air before the J3.

The J3 had few air time in Antel and had few glitches and landed over tall grass. Few mishaps happened also due to incorrect C.G. and its final crash happened at the Doers field where it bogged down while giving a steep up elevator input. i later realized that there's a dead cell in my lipo pack. I still plan to repair it but until now it's still sitting in my workshop collecting dust. Really, i'll tell you, balsa construction is a real pain to repair.

Overall, flying characteristic of the model is not impressive. So she's a candidate for retirement.
